About Calendar MCQs

Calendar problems rely on the idea of odd days, the remainder left after dividing a number of days by 7. This set asks you to move forward or back between dates, such as finding the weekday of 1 January four years later or the day 61 days after a Monday. You need to know that an ordinary year has one odd day and a leap year has two, and how to treat century years. A few mixed questions on work and rate also appear, so read each item carefully before applying a formula.

Frequently asked questions

What are odd days in calendar questions?

Odd days are the extra days left over after counting complete weeks in a period. An ordinary year of 365 days has 1 odd day and a leap year of 366 days has 2. Adding odd days to a known weekday tells you the weekday of the target date.

Today is Monday. What day will it be after 61 days?

Divide 61 by 7 to get 8 complete weeks and a remainder of 5. Moving 5 days forward from Monday gives Saturday. This remainder method works for any number of days and is much quicker than counting on a calendar.
